On 1 June 2026, Keece proudly participated in the Trade & Tech Fit Career Expo in Melbourne, a hands-on trade and technology showcase designed to introduce female and gender-diverse students from Years 7 to 12 to the diverse career opportunities available across the trades and technology sectors.
The event provided students with the opportunity to engage directly with employers, apprentices and industry professionals while exploring practical activities that highlighted the diverse pathways available within trades and technology sectors.
At the Keece stand, students were invited to take part in interactive activities and learn more about careers in electrical, data and audio-visual technology infrastructure.
A key part of the experience was the opportunity to speak directly with one of Keece’s female apprentices, who shared her personal journey into the electrical industry and provided valuable insight into what life as an apprentice looks like. These authentic conversations helped students better understand the opportunities, challenges and rewards that come with a career in the trades.

By providing real-world examples and firsthand experiences, Keece aimed to demonstrate that the electrical industry offers a rewarding and accessible career path for people from all backgrounds.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the day was seeing students enthusiastically participate in activities, ask questions and engage with the industry in a practical and meaningful way.
Many students arrived with little or no prior exposure to electrical trades, yet quickly became involved, gaining confidence as they explored new skills and career possibilities. Seeing young women actively engaging with the trade reinforced the importance of representation and visibility within the industry.
Events such as Trade & Tech Fit play a vital role in challenging outdated perceptions and encouraging greater diversity across the construction, electrical and technology sectors.
Keece believes that introducing students to career opportunities early can have a lasting impact. For many young people, a single conversation can spark an interest that ultimately shapes their future career path.
By participating in initiatives like Trade & Tech Fit, Keece continues its commitment to supporting the development of future industry professionals while promoting greater participation of women within the trades.
We thank the event organisers, participating schools and all students who visited our stand and look forward to continuing to support programs that inspire the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
