Managing and monitoring your building, environment and your assets from the palm of your hand or a desktop is now a reality.
Technology is changing rapidly. Building automation and IoT asset monitoring is leading the way. From your mobile phone, you can now access, review, set up exception reporting and notifications and control practically every system and appliance within the business environment.
As sensors, and integrations develop so does the span of projects IoT Asset Management can now manage. For example:
- 3-phase motor control monitoring on industrial equipment
- automatic notification on fridge temperatures exceeding baseline temperature
- refrigeration temperature monitoring (mandatory requirements in hospitality & health)
- energy monitoring on specific equipment/zones/floors and buildings
- remote testing emergency lighting,
- automatically watering wall plants based on soil moisture
- regulating environment temperatures
Each and every project in this space is unique Keece provide the following services:
- Product selection and supply
- Installation and commissioning
- programming, service and maintenance of systems
The merging of BMS (Building Management Systems) and IoT
A building management system (BMS) or Building Automation System (BAS) is a centralised system in which all components of said building are integrated and controlled. Traditionally this control is enabled by running the electrical wires to a central control system, a hub or bus so to speak. The hub can then be remotely controlled to regulate the mechanical, lighting, watering and security systems as required. Generally speaking, each of these systems also incorporates sensors that detect the existing level, and instruct the BMS what changes are required. For example, a temperature sensor regulates the air-conditioning in a room, which is only triggered when the room is occupied – triggered by IoT sensor.
